1. Data Not Collected
In a world full of trackers, we chose to write a product that collects nothing. Whybird has no third-party SDKs, no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, and no telemetry software.
We don't ask for your name, your email, your phone number, or your child's birthday. You start the app, and you immediately read cards.
2. Where Your Data Lives
When your child guesses an answer and you choose to save it, that text is stored:
- On your physical iOS device (inside local SwiftData storage).
- Inside your personal Apple iCloud account (using Apple's CloudKit private container).
This data is synced across your devices via your Apple ID. It never touches a server owned or operated by us. We do not have a database server, and we have no access to your child's answers, names, or histories.
3. Network Operations
The Whybird iOS app operates entirely offline. All story content, questions, illustrations, and logic ship inside the compiled app bundle. The app makes no outbound network connections, except for standard system interactions with iCloud for database sync and Apple StoreKit for subscriptions.
4. Payments and StoreKit
All purchases and subscriptions are handled natively through Apple's StoreKit 2 framework. All payment transactions, receipts, and credential validations are securely managed by Apple. We never see, receive, or store your payment details.
5. Your Control and Deletion
Because all data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account, you can inspect, modify, or delete your entire progress and chronicle directly from the settings menu in the app or by deleting the app from your device. We cannot delete it for you because we do not have access to it.
